Meet the Team

Priya Crosby - Group Leader

Hailing from Norwich originally, I undertook my PhD at the  MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology under the supervision of John O'Neill, where I focussed on the role of cellular metabolism in regulating circadian timekeeping. I then became a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Carrie Partch at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I predominantly worked on the structure and function of proteins that regulate cellular circadian rhythms. I started as a Chancellor's Fellow in August 2024

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be: bread, of all varieties

If I could have a super power I would choose: omniligualism. Or failing that, I guess a Babel fish would do.

James Glen - Honours Student

Originally from Glasgow, I am an intercalating third year medical student at the University of Edinburgh, currently doing my honours project on the structural biology of one of the central proteins in the plant circadian rhythm.

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be: pizza.

If I could have a super power I would choose: Freeze time (for unlimited lie-ins and naps)

Hannah Coveney - Wellcome iCM PhD Student

Originally from Wiltshire, I studied my integrated masters in Biochemistry at the University of Manchester. I’m currently carrying out my PhD at the University of Edinburgh. My research focuses on the role of GSK3b in regulating circadian rhythms.

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be: cheese (of all kinds!)

If I could have a super power, I would choose: teleportation (so I can skip my commute!)

Yuxin Hong - MSc Student

Originally from China, I’m currently pursuing a one-year Master’s in Drug Discovery and Translational Biology at the University of Edinburgh. My research focuses on the regulation of circadian phase by casein kinase 1 (CK1), using biochemical methods to explore clock protein dynamics and post-translational regulatory mechanisms.

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be: Dumplings (all fillings welcome).

If I could have any super power, it would be: full-brain access like in Lucy — instant learning, cellular regeneration, telekinesis, multilingual fluency.
